Firefighter/Attorney Arnett Hartsfield, Jr. Bust Unveiled at the

African American Firefighter’s Museum Los Angeles

Lane was commissioned to create a bust of Mr. Hartsfield, one of the first African American Firefighters in Los Angeles. He ultimately became an attorney to fight the prejudice in the Los Angeles Fire Department.


This project was supported by the California Artist Coalition of Los Angeles, Community Redevelopment Agency, Bob Blake and Dr. Roslyn Blake and the John M. Langston Bar Association.
